Yes, it's way too too long since the last post, but I've achieved one remarkable goal today - the 1K level, otherwise known as "Panther point". This level also has a very personal meaning as well. Probably a few of you do know that I lost my Aunt Kathy last month after a long battle with Scleroderma. She was a wonderful lady who left a legacy by touching so many people's lives in many wide and varied ways. She had an infectious laugh and a love for the Washington Redskins football team. Even the past few years when she was in pain from her scleroderma, you would never know as she was always so positive and lighthearted when she spoke with you on the telephone. She kept getting after me, as I'm on a sort of house hunt in Gainesville "You better get moving. April is coming up quickly."
After she'd passed, I'd decided in my heart that I wanted to achieve this 1K level as fast as I could, by the end of April and thus dedicate the 1K to her memory. I'd start to pick up cycling more heavily than before, as that's a great way for exercise and get some "miles". Due to a Bike, Hike and Bus week in Gainesville it was decided for the Trek 'alternate commuting' would count for double miles. Unrelated to this goal, I had committed to biking to work the whole week - about a 4 3/4 distance. So obviously this round trip, 2 for 1 miles was going to add up quickly. Thus as of 4/19, thanks to the double miles primarly from cycling I've gone and exceeded the 1K. In an email to me from July 9, last year after sending a link to Aunt K, she replied with this:
Hi Beth,
I love your blog.It keeps you motivated and keeps me
up to date on what your doing.
Have a good weekend and stay dry(if possible).
Beware of hurricane Dennis.
Aunt K
=============
I know she's looking down on me proud of what I've accomplished today. A key achievement in a rather odd, strange and painstaking week. But I can look back on today and say "I got the 1K for Aunt K!" And I have to say from the bottom of my heart to the individual that runs the FL Trek program (they know who they are!) my deepest thank you for the double-miles this week, allowing me to reach this goal today. You are a totally fabulous person! :)
I was attacking this level with such motivation, intensity, desire as I had heavenly purpose. This year's FL trek ends on May 13. Don't know how far I can go, but the sky's the limit!

It's been a while..
But I am making awesome progress on my trek. I've decided to space to 50 miles per level in anticipation to reach at least 1K.
I did the daring thing and biked to the office - just to see if I could do it. And amazingly I did!

700 mile level reached.
Haven't figured out what my movitational level was, but I've reached the 700 mileage one! I have decided to change my incremental levels from 25 to 50 until the Trek ends in a few months.

Snow bunny level reached!
Reached another milestone 675 miles. Not 100% sure which it was - I think I've confused myself. Now onto the to be determined 700 level. After that, I believe the "distance" between will be bumped up to 50 miles, instead of 25.

Only one pound to go
I'm only one pound, a mere 16 ounces away from reaching my thirty pound loss goal. I've been hovering near it, perhaps five pounds away. Still making progress on the trek!

Another level reached - 650 miles!
I reached the 650 level today. Amazing after only 9 days from the last. I work with some characters at work and one of which is becoming quite a Blackberry addict. He's even interested in one of these helmetshelmets!
I'm intrigued to find out how long it will take google to find Darth Kenberry! It hasn't yet. Only a matter of time.

Another level reached!
I don't know why these posts are few and far between BUT I have reached another level! Now onto Snow House level.
The next "big" goal is at 1000 miles, the Panther Point. I know that will be achieveable.
